The Fight or Flight update was the second major update for Team Fortress 2 Classic. It focused on content involving new mobility or related to air. Things such as a new building that allows teammates to jump high, an anti aircraft cannon to shoot said jumping enemies, and a shotgun that lets Pyro double jump were included in this update.
In total this update introduced 7 new weapons, 5 new maps including a 4 team medieval one, a new gamemode, 54 new achievements, and various fixes and changes to the core gameplay.
Announcements
The Fight or Flight page officially began on April 26, 2023, as announced on the Team Fortress 2 Classic Website.
- Day 1: Introduced the Jump Pads, the L'escampette, a quality of life change to disguises on Four-Team matches, and maps Frigid and Floodgate, which were King of the Hill and Arena respectively.
- Day 2: Introduced the Anti-Aircraft Cannon, Chekhov's Punch, the Twin Barrel, and the Harvester, and maps Jinn and Krepost, the first Four-Team Medieval Mode map.
- Day 3: The new Territorial Domination gamemode was introduced along with the map Caper. 54 new achievements were announced, and a change log was posted, including a reference to the Brick. The update was also officially released.

Trivia
- The name of this update references human instincts: Fight or Flight, or the more complete version, Fight, Flight or Freeze. When humans are in danger, they either fight back (fight), run away (flight) or stay in place (freeze).
- Technically the name Fight, Flight or Freeze could still work considering the map Frigid was included in this update.
