Players will drop/cannot pick up the intelligence:
 
* Upon death.
 
* When entering a resupply room.
 
* While under the effects of [[ÜberCharge]] invulnerability.
 
* While cloaked as a [[Spy]].
 
* Upon pressing the "drop flag" key (L by default).
 
Furthermore, players carrying the intelligence:
 
* Cannot travel through [[Teleporters]].
 
* Will have their [[Disguise Kit|disguise]] removed.

The Intelligence also commonly referred to the Intel, Briefcase, or simply the Flag is the main objective of the Capture the Flag gamemode. It usually appears as a team-colored briefcase, or as a override device when present in certain VIP maps, like Mineside. When carried, the flag-carrier will have a team-colored outline while a long trail of paper particles will follow them, leading defending team-members towards their position. The goal is to typically bring it to a designated capture area. When present in the map, the HUD will display team-colored compasses pointing to their flag on the bottom of the screen.

  • Upon death.
  • When entering a resupply room.
  • While under the effects of ÜberCharge invulnerability.
  • While cloaked as a Spy.
  • Upon pressing the "drop flag" key (L by default).
